It's About Passion
Rebecca is a professional working actor and singer. Her passion for performance has taken her from the stage to the screen with a few stops at coffee shops and hotel lounges along the way.
At the age of 12 Rebecca made her first appearance in Rogers and Hammerstein’s OKLAHOMA! and from there immersed herself in song and especially musical theatre. Her professional debut came with the reopening of the historic Stanley Theatre on Granville Street alongside Michael Buble in the revue SWING written and directed by Dean Reagan. She can be heard on the subsequent FOREVER SWING, the original cast recording.
By the time she was 21 Rebecca had played lead roles in eight major musicals including PETER PAN, BYE BYE BIRDIE, PIRATES OF PANZANCE, BABY, WEST SIDE STORY and most notably as Ariel in the US National Tour of FOOTLOOSE and Johanna in the acclaimed SWEENEY TODD directed by Morris Panych.
Rebecca met her husband Todd Talbot while playing Maria in WEST SIDE STORY and they were married in March of 2007. Rebecca went on to perform in four more musicals including a Jesse nominated performance in RUTHLESS THE MUSICAL and most recently as Mayzie La Bird in SEUSSICAL THE MUSICAL.
Rebecca landed a small role on the TV hit series X-FILES in 1997 and fought the hard fight in film and television continuing to appear sporadically in commercials, Movies of the week and Vancouver shot television series such as THE COLLECTOR and THREE MOONS OVER MILFORD until her feature film debut as a cherry-lipped 1940’s salesclerk opposite Chris Cooper in MARRIED LIFE. She also wrote and shot the short film SUB-URBAN BEHAVIOUR in the summer of 2008. Her writing won best screenplay and her performance best actress at the 2008 North Shore Film Festival.
Rebecca hasn't forgot about her musical career and began working with guitarist Keith Wagschal in 2008 on original songs, performing at various live venues, and aspires to record a CD in the near future.
